Cañada College FMC Opens
New Cañada College FMC opens LEED Silver with a grand tour

The Facilities Maintenance Center at Cañada College celebrated the completion with a Dedication Ceremony September 17th. The new FMC is certified LEED Silver, containing a great deal of sustainable components including;”green” materials, low flow water fixtures, natural day lighting, water tolerant landscaping, electric vehicle parking Green cleaning products. The timeless designs utilize simplistic materials and colors that harmonize with each existing campus.
This long awaited new FMC serves as the operation hub for the Maintenance team. For 25 years of devoted service Danny Glass was honored with a plaque in dedication of the “Glass Room”.
Samer Kawar, Lead Design Architect conducted a tour of the LEED components of the building and grounds. Participants learned of the details of how and why the design achieved LEED Silver.
